Etch Process Engineer
Requirements:
- BS or MS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science or related field.
- 3 years or more experience in MEMS or semiconductor processing.
- Experience with deep silicon, metal and dielectric etching, along with XeF2 and HF release processes.
- Experience with STS, LAM, Ulvac, Xactix and Primaxx tool sets.
- Experienced in the use of design of experiments, failure analysis methodologies, and statistical process controls for process optimization and control.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in customer and vendor relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Sustain, evaluate, and improve current etch processes.
- Process product through the Etch area
- Develop new dry etch processes for MEMS structures as required.
- Apply statistical process control on critical parameters in the area
- Act as technical lead in programs that require extensive etch processing (establish activities for overall process development, define schedule, routinely report results).
- Work with ITC technical team to integrate processes for successful device fabrication
- Work with technical members to ensure a match of process capability to product requirement. Make available various process/product options and their associated costs with recommendation to reconcile any differences.

About the Infotonics Technology Center
The Infotonics Technology Center Inc. (Infotonics) is a not-for-profit corporation that operates New York State’s Center of Excellence in Photonics and Microsystems. Infotonics is structured as a consortium whose founding participants include Corning, Inc., Eastman Kodak Company, and Xerox Corporation. Academic participants include some 20 New York State colleges and universities.
